Congratulations to all of our athletes (and their dedicated parents!) on another successful school year.

Special accolades go out to all of our graduates; we wish them the best on their future endevours and are honored to have been a part of their journey. 

Williams Sport Training 2017 Summer Schedule (effective June 19th)

Class sizes may be limited. 

NOTE:

Morning hours are here!

Some GK Academy and GK/Finishing times and sessions have been changed or moved.

There is NO Speed/Skill at 4pm.

Summer group hours end at 7pm and classes are limited on Friday evenings and Saturday days.

*College Prep sessions are ONLY for athletes registered in that program. Please call if you are unsure.

**Additional fees apply for GK Academy, GK/Finishing and Technical Reinforcement.

***Yoga is open to all levels and abilities. You do not need to be a WST client to attend. Please bring a mat and water. $10 fee.

Personal Training and Adult Programming by appointment. Evening and daytime hours available.

Athlete Accountability: It’s on you

The late John Wooden, one of the greatest college basketball coaches of all time, once said, “Discipline yourself and others won’t need to.” This wisdom rings as true today as it did in the late 1990’s when he wrote those words in his book, Wooden: A Lifetime of Observations and Reflections On and Off the Court.

The modern athlete has a host of external influences, distractions, and easier paths that can make it easy to pass off responsibility to others and not use mistakes and failures as opportunities to grow, improve, and learn. Watching Netflix all day, playing video games, and getting fast food after a workout is easier than going out and doing extra fitness, spending an extra 20 minutes to work on flexibility, or taking the time to prepare a healthy meal after a hard session.

While none of these activities is inherently bad, exchanging a better choice for a lesser one can compound and become habitual. The converse is also true. Consciously making the choice to put in extra work will also form good habits. When we get into good routines, we start to crave the outcomes, or rewards, that those routines lead to.

Many of the athletes that train at WST are striving to play at the highest level. Whether it is a Division I program or even beyond as a professional, choices rest solely on the shoulders of the athlete. The choice to eat healthier, the choice to stretch more, and the choice to get proper rest are essential habits to form in order to ascend to the next level. The extra touches and reps in a session will only go as far as the athlete’s discipline outside of training will allow.

When an athlete makes the conscious decision to remain disciplined, the sky is the limit for what they can achieve in their sport.

The WST Approach: Be the Beast

Here at WST, you are more than a number; you are a part of a family. Through the latest training techniques for strength, speed, and sports-specific movement, we seek to instill the Beast Mode mentality. This mentality goes beyond sport. We seek to build respectful, obedient, and intelligent athletes, both on the field and in life.

To achieve these personal growth goals, we’ve established the following guidelines for our athletes to follow – The 10 Commandments of WST:

  1. Be the Beast
  2. Athletes must Listen and Do
  3. Train with confidence never say, “ I can’t ”
  4. Focus on your technique
  5. Introduce yourself to others
  6. No Cell Phones in the Gym
  7. Perform all phases of the warm up
  8. Sitting between sets = 5 Burpees; Open-mouth yawns= 5 Push-ups
  9. Clean up after yourself
  10. Enjoy the prowler and the foam

Whether through private sessions or group training, we are here to make you stronger everyday. At WST, we build the beast to dominate on the field, in the office, and at home.
