jon- Speed SKillWilliams Sport Training’s Speed Skill program does more than just test your touch or work on your movement off the ball. WST Speed Skill is an exercise for your brain’s thought process during competitive matches. Having trained with Mark Williams in the past, my increased thought process due to speed skill sessions became influential to my game. I was able to analyze situations quicker and deceive opponents with a greater ease. The game is won and lost in tight areas, therefore when you’re not given a lot of space to work with you must become creative. 

Not only does speed skill provided you with the technical skill, but additionally the confidence from repetitive movements to be creative. WST speed skill will change your game no matter what level you are currently at.

Just prior to crossing paths with the ball during a match or in practice, a list should pop into their head. For some players this list is not always the same, but the general list is as follows:

  1. Can I score?
  2. Can I create a goal scoring opportunity?
  3. How can I keep the ball?

The top players around the world already have two options in their head before a ball is ever at their feet. They know where the goal is along with their next most dangerously positioned teammate. This is why these elite athletes are able to play so quickly. Their thought process and reading of the game happens so fast that it looks as if they are not even thinking. Playing quickly is more than just your individual quickness on the ball it is premeditated decision-making. If you know what you want to do with the ball, you will get and give it much quicker.  Williams Sport Training’s Speed Skill classes and repetitive movement drills will not only make you a fitter and quicker athlete, but will provide you with the ability to increase you decision making skills, therefore allowing you to play at your peak performance.
